Fall Break Camp November 23–25, 2026 | 1–4 PM
All of our Fall Break Camps will Be led by our very own Co-Founder Hayley Schilling. Hayley holds a bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Child Development from California State University, Northridge, and is a Child Development Specialist with decades of experience working with children from preschool through elementary school, with specialized expertise in supporting neurodivergent children.
Three afternoons designed to take campers beyond individual recipes and teach them how to prepare, organize, and execute complete meals from scratch. Campers will build practical kitchen skills while learning how timing, technique, organization, and flavor all work together.
DAY 1 — The Blueprint of Breakfast
Campers kick off camp by learning how to build and coordinate a complete breakfast from scratch. They’ll practice knife safety, precise measuring, managing heat zones, time blocking, and workstation organization while exploring how sweet, acidic, and rich flavors balance one another.
Working together, campers will prepare a four-dish breakfast: Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes, Crispy Maple-Glazed Bacon, Soft-Scrambled Eggs with Chives, and a Macerated Berry Parfait with Citrus-Infused Scratch Whipped Cream. Along the way, they’ll practice scratch-batter technique, oven baking, low-and-slow pan control, and coordinating multiple dishes so the entire meal comes together at the right time.
Skills: Knife safety • Precise measuring • Heat-zone management • Mise en place • Time blocking • Scratch-batter technique • Oven baking • Pan control • Flavor balancing • Multi-dish timing
DAY 2 — The Midday Bistro
Campers move into savory cooking and take on a complete four-dish hot lunch. They’ll learn protein preparation, safe handling of raw poultry, cross-contamination prevention, roasting, and emulsion creation while practicing how to manage multiple hot components at once.
Campers will prepare Crispy Golden Chicken Tenders, Smashed Garlic-Herb Potatoes, Parmesan-Roasted Broccoli, and Artisan Crostini with a Four-Element Mother Vinaigrette. They’ll also explore how salt, fat, herbs, and acidity work together to build and balance flavor.
Skills: Food safety • Raw poultry handling • Cross-contamination prevention • Protein preparation • Roasting • Emulsification • Hot-food preparation • Flavor balancing • Multitasking • Timing & organization
DAY 3 — The Holiday Table
Everything comes together on the final afternoon as campers apply the techniques they’ve practiced to their biggest challenge: preparing a multi-dish holiday meal from scratch. They’ll plan their workflow, organize their workstations, divide responsibilities, manage cooking times and temperatures, and work together to bring an entire meal to the table.
Rather than simply following individual recipes, campers will focus on planning, sequencing, teamwork, and execution—building the confidence and independence to understand how a complete meal comes together from start to finish.
Skills: Meal planning • Workflow & sequencing • Prep efficiency • Multi-dish timing • Temperature management • Kitchen organization • Teamwork & communication • Problem-solving • Scratch cooking • Kitchen independence
By the end of the three-day camp, campers will have progressed from practicing individual cooking techniques to organizing, timing, and preparing complete multi-dish meals from scratch.
