Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change. Because The Makery Studios is a small-group camp with limited enrollment, each registration reserves a space that may otherwise have been available to another camper.
The following Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to all camp block registrations unless a specific exception is stated below.
24-Hour Cancellation Period
Families may cancel a camp block within 24 hours of purchase for a refund.
Refunds will be issued for the amount paid, less any non-refundable payment-processing, banking, or transaction fees actually incurred by The Makery Studios.
Exception: If the camp block is scheduled to begin within 48 hours of purchase, the 48-hour cancellation policy below applies and the registration is final, except for the Celiac-Friendly cancellation exception described below.
Cancellations After 24 Hours
After the initial 24-hour cancellation period, refunds, transfers, or rescheduling are not guaranteed.
If more than 48 hours remain before the start of the applicable camp block, The Makery Studios may, at the discretion of the Camp Director or camp owner:

Approve a refund;
-
Move the camper to another available camp block;
-
Approve a transfer to another eligible camper;
-
Approve another reasonable registration change; or
-
Decline the cancellation or change request.
All changes and rescheduling are subject to availability and prior approval.
Approval of a refund, transfer, rescheduling, or other exception on one occasion does not guarantee approval of future requests.
Within 48 Hours of Camp
Once a camp block is within 48 hours of its scheduled start, the registration is final.
There are:

No cancellations;
-
No refunds;
-
No transfers; and
-
No rescheduling.
This applies even if the registration was purchased less than 24 hours earlier.
The Celiac-Friendly cancellation exception described below is an exception to this policy.
Celiac-Friendly Camp Cancellation Exception
Families selecting our Celiac-Friendly camp option will have the opportunity to speak personally with The Makery Studios before their child’s first day of the applicable camp block.
During this conversation, we can discuss our gluten-free procedures, the shared commercial kitchen environment, the camper’s individual needs, and any additional food allergies or dietary restrictions.
The Makery Studios operates in a shared commercial kitchen and is not a dedicated gluten-free facility. Although we take additional precautions for Celiac-Friendly campers, we cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free or cross-contact-free environment.
We want parents and guardians to understand our procedures and feel comfortable with their child’s participation before camp begins.
If, after discussing our procedures with The Makery Studios, a parent or legal guardian determines that they are not comfortable having their child participate in the Celiac-Friendly option, they may cancel the affected camp registration and receive a full refund of the tuition paid.
This Celiac-Friendly cancellation right applies even when the registration would otherwise be non-refundable under our standard cancellation policy.
To qualify for this exception, the cancellation must occur before the camper first attends the applicable camp block.
Once the camper has attended any portion of the applicable camp block, the Celiac-Friendly cancellation exception ends and our standard cancellation, refund, missed-day, illness, and voluntary-withdrawal policies apply.
This exception is intended to allow families to make an informed decision after discussing our Celiac-Friendly procedures. It does not provide a refund for missed camp or withdrawal after participation has begun.
AM & PM Blocks
AM and PM camp blocks are separate registrations.
Families may purchase:

The AM block;
-
The PM block; or
-
Both blocks.
If both blocks are purchased for the same camper during the same camp week, complimentary lunchtime supervision between the two blocks is included.
Campers staying between blocks must bring their own packed lunch. The Makery Studios does not provide lunch.
Cancellation of one block does not automatically cancel the other block.
If you need to cancel both an AM and PM registration, each applicable registration is subject to this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
For purposes of the Celiac-Friendly cancellation exception, if a camper is registered for both blocks and the family cancels before the camper has attended either block, the exception may apply to both affected registrations.
Once the camper has begun attending an applicable block, the standard cancellation and refund provisions apply to that block.
Missed Days & Partial Attendance
Camp tuition reserves a camper’s space for the entire registered block.
There are no refunds, credits, prorated tuition, rescheduling, or make-up days for missed camp time due to:

Illness;
-
Vacation or travel;
-
Family or scheduling conflicts;
-
Sports or other activities;
-
Transportation issues;
-
Late arrival;
-
Early pickup;
-
No-shows;
-
Voluntary withdrawal;
-
Behavioral or safety-related removal; or
-
Other personal circumstances.
This applies whether a camper misses one day or the entire block.
Illness
We understand that children get sick. However, because enrollment is limited and each registration reserves a camper’s space, illness does not qualify for a refund, credit, rescheduling, or make-up day once the applicable cancellation period has passed.
If a camper becomes ill during camp, The Makery Studios may require the camper to be picked up.
Missed time due to illness is not refundable and cannot be made up.

Celiac Disease, Gluten Exposure & Illness
The Celiac-Friendly cancellation exception described above is intended to give families an opportunity to evaluate our procedures before their child participates.
Once a camper begins participating in the applicable camp block, illness, symptoms, suspected gluten exposure, or concerns regarding possible cross-contact do not automatically qualify the registration for a refund, credit, rescheduling, prorated tuition, or make-up day.
Nothing in this Cancellation & Refund Policy is intended to waive any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
Minimum Enrollment
The Makery Studios requires a minimum enrollment of five campers per block.
If we cancel a camp block because minimum enrollment has not been met, families registered for that block will receive a refund of the tuition paid for the cancelled block.
The Camp Director may offer the option to move the camper to another available block, but families are not required to accept an alternative and availability cannot be guaranteed.
Cancellation or Changes by The Makery Studios
The Makery Studios may occasionally need to modify, reschedule, relocate, or cancel programming because of circumstances including:

Facility closures;
-
Emergencies;
-
Unsafe conditions;
-
Natural disasters;
-
Utility failures;
-
Government orders;
-
Staffing emergencies; or
-
Other circumstances that make normal operation unsafe, impracticable, or impossible.
Families will be notified as promptly as reasonably possible.
Depending on the circumstances, The Makery Studios may provide a refund, rescheduled block, credit, or other reasonable remedy, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law.
Registration Transfers & Changes
Registrations may not be resold.
When more than 48 hours remain before the applicable block begins, a request to move a registration to another eligible camper or another available camp block may be considered at the discretion of The Makery Studios.
All changes are subject to availability and prior approval.
Behavioral or Safety-Related Removal
The Makery Studios may require a camper to be picked up or discontinue a camper’s participation when behavior becomes unsafe, significantly disruptive, or cannot reasonably be managed within the camp environment.
Except where otherwise required by applicable law, removal for behavioral or safety reasons does not qualify for a refund, credit, prorated tuition, rescheduling, or make-up day.
If We Cannot Accommodate a Camper
Parents and guardians are responsible for providing complete and accurate information regarding any medical, allergy, dietary, behavioral, developmental, sensory, or other support needs that may affect participation.
If, before the applicable camp block begins, The Makery Studios determines that we cannot reasonably and safely accommodate a camper’s disclosed needs and therefore cannot permit the camper to attend, tuition paid for the affected block will be refunded.

The date and time the request is received by The Makery Studios will be used to determine whether the request falls within the applicable cancellation period.
For a Celiac-Friendly cancellation following the pre-camp consultation, please indicate that the camper is registered for the Celiac-Friendly option.
