This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you visit our website, contact us, register a camper, select a Celiac-Friendly camp option, complete camp forms, communicate with us about a camper’s needs, interact with our advertising or social-media content, or otherwise interact with The Makery Studios.
By using our website or providing information to us, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us and may include:

Camper Information
When registering a child for camp, we may collect information including:

Because some camper information is sensitive, we ask families to provide only information that is relevant to the camper’s health, safety, participation, dietary needs, or support while attending The Makery Studios.

The Makery Studios provides programming for children ages 6–13, but our website, registration system, and online forms are intended to be used and completed by parents or legal guardians.
Children should not independently submit personal information, registration forms, medical information, dietary or allergy information, or other camper information through our website.
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for providing information about their children and for ensuring that the information provided is accurate and current.
If we become aware that personal information was submitted directly by a child without appropriate parent or guardian involvement, please contact us so we can review and address the information appropriately.
3. Information Collected Automatically

Sensitive camper information is used for camp operations, safety, support, and other legitimate purposes described in this Policy. We do not intentionally use camper medical, celiac-related, allergy, medication, behavioral, developmental, sensory, or other sensitive information for advertising or audience targeting.
5. Cookies, Pixels and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies, pixels, tags, analytics tools, advertising technologies, and similar technologies to provide website functionality, remember preferences, understand website usage, measure performance, support security, measure advertising effectiveness, create or measure audiences, and improve our website and marketing.
Our website is hosted or operated using Wix, and Wix and services integrated with our website may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own policies.

6. Meta, Facebook and Instagram
The Makery Studios uses or may use services and technologies provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. for marketing, advertising, audience development, social-media engagement, and campaign measurement. These services may include Facebook, Instagram, Meta Business tools, Meta advertising tools, the Meta Pixel, and similar Meta measurement and advertising technologies.
When Meta advertising or measurement technologies are enabled on our website, Meta may receive information about a visitor’s interaction with the website. Depending on the technology and configuration, this may include information such as IP address, browser or device information, cookie or advertising identifiers, pages viewed, links clicked, referring information, and certain actions taken on the website.

We do not intentionally provide Meta with camper medical information, celiac disease information, food-allergy information, medically required dietary information, medication information, behavioral or developmental information, sensory or communication support information, emergency information, or other sensitive camper information for advertising, retargeting, audience creation, or ad personalization.
We also do not intentionally configure Meta advertising events, custom parameters, or audience names to communicate a child’s or identifiable individual’s medical condition, disability, celiac status, allergy status, medication use, behavioral or developmental needs, or other sensitive information.
7. Registration Forms and Sensitive Camper Information
Registration and camp forms may contain information that is significantly more sensitive than ordinary website analytics or marketing data.
We use camper medical, allergy, celiac-related, medication, behavioral, developmental, sensory, communication, emergency, and support information to prepare for and operate camp, protect health and safety, communicate with parents or guardians, and provide reasonable support.
We intend to keep this information separate from advertising and audience-targeting activities. We do not intentionally upload this sensitive camper information to Meta or use it to create Meta Custom Audiences.
If we use customer-list advertising or audience-matching tools, we intend to use appropriate adult parent or guardian contact information only when we have a lawful basis and applicable permissions to do so, and not sensitive camper information.
8. Celiac-Friendly Camp Information
For families selecting a Celiac-Friendly camp option, we may collect information concerning a camper’s celiac disease, medically required gluten-free diet, allergies, dietary restrictions, prior concerns, and other information reasonably necessary to prepare for participation.
We may use this information to plan gluten-free ingredients, equipment and preparation areas; inform appropriate staff; respond to suspected exposure or other concerns; determine whether we can reasonably accommodate the camper; conduct or document a pre-camp discussion when reasonably necessary; and process an applicable Celiac-Friendly cancellation or refund.
Celiac-related, allergy, and medically required dietary information is treated as sensitive camper information and is not intentionally used for Meta advertising, retargeting, audience creation, or ad personalization.
9. Payment Information
Payments may be processed by Wix or other third-party payment processors. The Makery Studios may receive transaction information such as payment status, amount, date, and limited billing information, but payment-card information may be processed directly by the applicable payment provider.
Payment providers maintain their own privacy and security practices. Families should review the applicable provider’s policies when appropriate.
10. Email, Text and Marketing Communications
We may use parent or guardian contact information to send registration confirmations, camp logistics, safety information, requested communications, customer-service messages, and other operational communications.
Where permitted, we may also send information about upcoming camps, pop-ups, Parents’ Night Out events, promotions, or other Makery programs.
Recipients may unsubscribe from promotional email communications using the unsubscribe method provided in the message. Transactional, registration, safety, or other non-promotional communications may still be sent when appropriate.
11. Social Media
The Makery Studios may maintain and actively use Facebook and Instagram accounts and may use other social-media platforms.
If you follow, message, comment on, share, like, or otherwise interact with The Makery Studios through Facebook, Instagram, or another social-media service, that platform may collect and process information about the interaction under its own privacy policy.
We may receive information that the platform makes available to page or business-account operators, such as public profile information, comments, messages, engagement statistics, or aggregated audience insights.
Please use care when sharing information about a child, medical condition, allergy, celiac disease, behavioral or developmental need, or other sensitive matter through public comments or social media. For camper-specific matters, please use the communication method designated by The Makery Studios.
12. Photographs and Media
The Makery Studios may offer parents or legal guardians an optional Photo & Media Release.
We will use identifiable camper photographs or videos for promotional or public-facing purposes only in accordance with the permissions provided by the parent or legal guardian and applicable law.
Declining an optional Photo & Media Release does not prevent a camper from participating in camp.
If permitted media is used on Facebook, Instagram, or other social-media platforms, those platforms may process the posted content and engagement information under their own policies.
13. Service Providers
We may use service providers to assist with website hosting, registration, payments, email delivery, communications, analytics, advertising and campaign measurement, data storage, forms, security, accounting, and other business operations.
These providers may process information as reasonably necessary to provide services to us and may be subject to their own legal and contractual obligations.
We seek to provide service providers only the information reasonably necessary for the applicable service and to limit access to sensitive camper information to those who reasonably need it.
14. We Do Not Sell Camper Information
The Makery Studios does not sell children’s personal information.
We do not sell camper medical, allergy, celiac-related, medication, behavioral, developmental, emergency, or support information.
We do not provide sensitive camper information to third parties for their independent advertising or marketing purposes.
Depending on the technologies used on our website and applicable law, use of Meta Pixel, advertising cookies, retargeting technologies, or other advertising services may be treated as “sharing,” cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, or similar activity even when no money is exchanged. Where legally required and applicable to us, we will provide required notices and methods for exercising applicable opt-out rights.

Meta provides account, advertising, and privacy controls for Facebook and Instagram users. Those controls are administered by Meta.
