Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all registrations and participation in programs operated by The Makery Studios LLC (“The Makery Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By completing a registration, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Program & Location

The Makery Studios provides hands-on day camp programming for children ages 8–14.

Camp is currently held at:

The registered business address of The Makery Studios LLC is:

Encino, CA 91436

The Makery Studios LLC independently operates and supervises its camp programming. Holy Spirit Retreat Center serves as the host facility and does not operate The Makery Studios programs.

All programs are day camps only. No overnight care or accommodations are provided.

2. AM & PM Camp Blocks

Camp is offered in separate AM and PM blocks.

Families may register for:

• The AM block only;

• The PM block only; or

• Both the AM and PM blocks.

Each block is purchased and reserved separately unless otherwise specifically stated at checkout.

A registration reserves a camper's space only in the specific block selected and successfully purchased.

3. Camp Week Length

Each AM or PM block represents one camp week.

Holiday camp weeks, including Thanksgiving and Winter camps, may consist of three camp days.

Summer camp weeks may consist of five camp days.

The applicable dates and schedule will be displayed with each camp block before purchase.

4. Campers Attending Both Blocks

Campers registered for both the AM and PM blocks during the same camp week may remain at camp between the two blocks.

Complimentary lunchtime supervision is included.

There is no additional charge for supervision between blocks.

Campers staying between the AM and PM blocks must bring a packed lunch from home.

The Makery Studios does not provide lunch.

Food prepared, tasted, or eaten as part of supervised cooking and baking activities is separate from lunch and is governed by the camper's Allergy & Food Authorization.

5. Registration & Payment

Registration is not complete until payment has been successfully processed.

Camp blocks are subject to availability and enrollment limits. A camper's space is not guaranteed until registration for the applicable block is completed and payment is received.

All required forms, waivers, authorizations, and emergency information must be completed before participation.

CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES & REFUNDS

6. 24-Hour Cancellation Period

Families have 24 hours from the time a camp block is purchased to cancel that block for a refund.

Approved refunds will be for the amount paid, less any non-refundable payment-processing, banking, or transaction fees actually incurred by The Makery Studios.

If the camp block is scheduled to begin within 48 hours, the 48-hour cancellation restriction below takes priority.

7. Cancellations After 24 Hours

After the initial 24-hour cancellation period, refunds, transfers, or rescheduling are not guaranteed.

When more than 48 hours remain before the applicable block begins, The Makery Studios may, at the discretion of the Camp Director or camp owner:

• Approve a refund;

• Move the camper to another available camp block;

• Approve another reasonable registration change; or

• Decline the requested cancellation or change.

Any alternative block is subject to availability.

Approval of an exception on one occasion does not create a right to future refunds, transfers, or changes.

8. Within 48 Hours of Camp

Once a camp block is within 48 hours of its scheduled start, the registration is final.

There are:

No cancellations.
No refunds.
No transfers.
No rescheduling.

This applies even if the registration itself was purchased less than 24 hours earlier.

9. Missed Days & Partial Attendance

Camp tuition reserves a camper's space for the entire applicable block.

There are no refunds, credits, prorated tuition, or make-up days for camp time missed because of:

• Illness;

• Vacation or travel;

• Family scheduling;

• Sports or other activities;

• Transportation issues;

• Late arrival;

• Early pickup;

• No-shows;

• Voluntary withdrawal;

• Behavioral or safety-related removal; or

• Other personal circumstances.

10. Waiting List

When a camp block reaches capacity, The Makery Studios may maintain a waiting list.

Placement on a waiting list does not guarantee enrollment.

If a space becomes available, The Makery Studios may offer that space to a family on the waiting list and may establish a reasonable deadline for accepting and purchasing the available space.

11. Registration Changes

In limited circumstances and when more than 48 hours remain before a block begins, the Camp Director or camp owner may allow a registration to be moved to another available block.

Any change is:

• At the discretion of The Makery Studios;

• Subject to availability; and

• Not guaranteed.

A registration may not be resold.

Any transfer of a registration to another eligible camper requires prior approval from The Makery Studios.

12. Minimum Enrollment

The Makery Studios requires a minimum enrollment of five campers per block.

We reserve the right to cancel a block if fewer than five campers are enrolled.

If The Makery Studios cancels a block because minimum enrollment has not been met, families will receive a refund of the tuition paid for the cancelled block.

The Camp Director may offer an alternative available block, but families are not required to accept it and availability cannot be guaranteed.

13. Cancellations or Changes by The Makery Studios

The Makery Studios may modify, reschedule, relocate within the host facility, or cancel programming when reasonably necessary because of circumstances including facility closures, emergencies, natural disasters, unsafe conditions, utility failures, government orders, staffing emergencies, or other circumstances that make normal operation unsafe, impracticable, or impossible.

Families will be notified as promptly as reasonably possible.

Depending on the circumstances, The Makery Studios may provide a refund, rescheduled block, credit, or other reasonable remedy, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law.

CAMPER INFORMATION & PARTICIPATION

14. Required Camper Information

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and current information regarding their camper.

This includes information that may affect health, safety, supervision, or participation, including, when applicable:

• Allergies and dietary restrictions;

• Medical conditions;

• Medications;

• Behavioral, developmental, sensory, or support needs;

• Emergency contacts;

• Authorized pickup persons; and

• Other information reasonably necessary for safe participation.

Parents must promptly notify The Makery Studios if relevant information changes.

15. Camper Needs & Reasonable Accommodation

The Makery Studios welcomes campers with a variety of needs and will make reasonable efforts to support successful participation.

If a camper has medical, allergy, dietary, behavioral, developmental, sensory, or other support needs that may require additional planning or accommodation, parents should provide that information before camp.

The Makery Studios is a small, hands-on group program and does not routinely provide dedicated one-to-one supervision.

We will consider each camper's individual circumstances and reasonable accommodations when appropriate.

Consistent with applicable law, The Makery Studios may determine that certain needs cannot be safely or reasonably accommodated within the staffing, facilities, activities, or structure of the program.

If The Makery Studios determines before the applicable block begins that we cannot reasonably and safely accommodate a camper and therefore cannot permit the camper to attend, tuition paid for the affected block will be refunded.

CAMP OPERATIONS & SAFETY

16. Drop-Off & Pickup

For the AM block, campers may be dropped off between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM.

For the PM block, campers must be picked up between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM.

Families should follow the specific arrival and dismissal instructions provided for their registered block.

Campers will only be released to a parent, legal guardian, or adult authorized for pickup.

The Makery Studios may request photo identification before releasing a camper.

17. Late Pickup

Campers attending the PM block must be picked up no later than 4:30 PM.

Beginning after 4:30 PM, a late pickup fee of $2 per minute, per family will apply.

Parents are responsible for arranging an alternate authorized pickup person if they cannot arrive on time.

Repeated late pickups may affect continued participation.

18. Lunch & Food From Home

Campers staying between the AM and PM blocks must bring a packed lunch from home clearly labeled with their name.

The Makery Studios does not provide lunch.

Parents are responsible for ensuring that food sent from home is appropriate for their child's allergies, dietary restrictions, medical needs, and preferences.

The Makery Studios may establish reasonable restrictions regarding foods brought to camp when necessary to help protect campers with serious allergies.

Campers should not share packed lunches or other food brought from home with other campers.

19. Cooking, Baking & Food Participation

Cooking and baking are interactive parts of The Makery Studios programming.

With appropriate parent/guardian authorization, campers may taste, sample, nibble, and eat appropriate ingredients and foods throughout supervised cooking and baking activities, including during preparation and after recipes are completed.

Parents must disclose applicable allergies and dietary restrictions and complete the required Allergy & Food Authorization.

Cooking activities take place in a shared commercial kitchen environment. The Makery Studios will make reasonable efforts to follow disclosed allergy precautions, but an allergen-free or completely cross-contact-free environment cannot be guaranteed.

20. Hands-On Activities, Tools & Equipment

Programming may include cooking, baking, food preparation, sewing, crafts, woodworking, building, design, and other hands-on activities.

Depending on the activity, campers may work with or around ovens, hot surfaces, kitchen appliances, cooking utensils, age-appropriate knives, scissors, needles, sewing equipment, hand tools, woodworking equipment and materials, adhesives, and other age-appropriate equipment.

Parents must complete the required Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk and Equipment & Activity Authorization.

Parent authorization does not guarantee use of any particular tool. Staff retain discretion to determine whether equipment use is appropriate and safe for an individual camper.

21. Camper Behavior & Safety

Campers are expected to:

• Treat campers and staff respectfully;

• Follow reasonable staff directions;

• Follow safety instructions;

• Use tools and equipment appropriately;

• Remain within designated supervised areas; and

• Avoid behavior that creates a significant safety concern or substantially disrupts the experience of others.

When reasonably appropriate, staff will attempt to redirect and support a camper experiencing difficulty.

The Makery Studios may require immediate pickup when behavior becomes unsafe, significantly disruptive, or cannot reasonably be managed within the camp environment.

Parents, guardians, or authorized emergency contacts must remain reasonably reachable during camp and arrange prompt pickup when requested.

Except where otherwise required by applicable law, there are no refunds, credits, prorated tuition, or make-up days for behavioral or safety-related removal.

22. Illness

Campers should not attend when experiencing a contagious illness or when too ill to safely and comfortably participate.

The Makery Studios may require pickup if a camper becomes ill during camp.

Campers should generally be fever-free without fever-reducing medication and free from vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours before returning, unless otherwise directed by an appropriate healthcare professional or applicable public-health guidance.

Missed camp due to illness is not refundable and cannot be made up.

23. Medications & Medical Information

Parents must disclose relevant medical conditions and medications and complete all applicable medical and emergency forms.

If medication may need to be stored, carried, assisted with, or administered in connection with camp, the required Medication Authorization must be completed.

In an emergency, The Makery Studios may provide basic first aid within staff training, contact parents or emergency contacts, call 911, request emergency medical services, and provide relevant camper information to emergency responders.

24. Parent/Guardian Availability

A parent, legal guardian, or authorized emergency contact must remain reasonably reachable while a camper is attending camp.

The Makery Studios may require early pickup because of illness, injury, significant behavioral or emotional difficulty, safety concerns, or other circumstances in which a camper cannot safely continue participating.

Parents agree to arrange prompt pickup when requested.

25. Personal Belongings & Cell Phones

Campers may bring cell phones, but phones should remain stored in backpacks unless a counselor or staff member gives permission for their use.

Cellular reception at the camp location may be limited or unreliable.

The Makery Studios is not responsible, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for personal belongings that are lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged during camp.

26. Damage to Property

Parents or legal guardians may be financially responsible for significant damage to The Makery Studios property, host-facility property, equipment, materials, or another person's property resulting from a camper's intentional conduct or serious misconduct.

This does not include ordinary wear and tear or accidental damage occurring during normal supervised participation.

27. Photos & Media

The Makery Studios offers a separate optional Photo & Media Release.

Permission to use identifiable photographs or videos of a camper for social media, website, advertising, or promotional purposes is not required as a condition of participation.

Declining the release will not affect a camper's ability to attend.

28. Program Changes

The Makery Studios may make reasonable changes to activities, recipes, projects, instructors, schedules, materials, rooms, equipment, or programming because of safety, staffing, facility needs, availability, camper needs, weather, or other operational considerations.

Registration does not guarantee any particular recipe, activity, project, instructor, material, or piece of equipment.

29. Required Forms

Participation may require completion of applicable forms including:

• Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk;

• Allergy & Food Authorization;

• Equipment & Activity Authorization;

• Camper Medical & Emergency Information;

• Camper Behavioral & Support Information;

• Authorized Pickup & Release Form;

• Medication Authorization, when applicable; and

• Other documentation reasonably necessary for safe participation.

The Photo & Media Release is optional.

A camper may not participate until all required forms applicable to that camper have been completed.

GENERAL TERMS

30. Website & Registration Information

The Makery Studios makes reasonable efforts to keep pricing, schedules, availability, program descriptions, and other website information accurate.

Occasional errors, omissions, or changes may occur. The Makery Studios reserves the right to correct errors and update information when reasonably necessary.

31. Parent/Guardian Responsibility

The parent or legal guardian completing registration is responsible for:

• Providing complete and accurate camper information;

• Completing required forms and waivers;

• Disclosing information reasonably necessary for safe participation;

• Keeping medical, emergency, and authorized pickup information current;

• Ensuring timely drop-off and pickup;

• Remaining reasonably reachable during camp; and

• Communicating relevant camp policies to other adults responsible for the camper.

32. Relationship to Other Policies

These Terms & Conditions should be read together with The Makery Studios':

• Cancellation Policy;

• Camper & Parent Policies;

• Privacy Policy; and

• Applicable camper waivers and authorizations.

33. Changes to These Terms

The Makery Studios may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes in our programs, operations, policies, or legal requirements.

Unless a change is reasonably necessary for health, safety, legal, or operational reasons, the Terms in effect at the time of registration will generally govern that registration.
